Power your business with the sun!

Solar power is the fastest growing energy technology in the world, and works exceptionally well even in the UK’s northern climate. More and more businesses are now using Solar Photovoltaics (PV) to generate electricity to power office equipment, lighting and heating systems.

With Government grants, Feed-In Tariffs, Renewable Heat Premium Payments and Renewable Heat Incentives, now is the time to ‘turn green’ and make energy-saving improvements to your business!

Solar PV: Generate cheap, green electricity from sunlight!

Fitting Solar Panels to a roof

The benefits of Solar PV

• Reduce your electricity bill
• Generates an annual tax free income through
the Government’s Feed-in Tariffs
• Sell unused and surplus electricity back to the grid
• Cut your carbon footprint
• Relatively maintenance free

Hot water from sunlight

Solar Thermal: Hot water on tap!

The benefits of Solar Thermal
• Hot water throughout the year, although you
will need to heat the water further with a boiler
or immersion heater during the winter months
• Reduce your electricity bill
• Cut your carbon footprint
• Relatively maintenance free
• Renewable Heat Incentive payments over a
seven year period
• Grant of £300 through the Government’s
Renewable Heat Premium Payment scheme.

£300 to help install Solar Thermal
technologies on your roof!

From April 2013 and until March 2014, homeowners can receive a one-off payment of £300, for the heat you generate from a solar water heating system through the government’s Renewable Heat Premium Payment scheme.
PLUS, similar to the Feed-In Tariff for Solar PV, homeowners will be paid for every unit of heat generated by their renewable solar thermal system. Payments will be made quarterly over a seven year period and is available through the Government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme.

Solar water heating systems use solar panels, called collectors, fitted to your roof. These collect heat from the sun and use it to heat up water which is stored in a hot water cylinder. A boiler or immersion heater can be used as a back up to heat the water further to reach the temperature you want.

Solar PV panels capture the sun's energy using photovoltaic cells. These cells don't need direct sunlight to work – they can still generate some electricity even on a cloudy day. The cells convert the sunlight into electricity, which can be used to run household appliances and lighting.
